Jean-Pierre Quintal
Jean-Pierre Quintal

Jean-Pierre was called to the Ontario bar in 1990 and has over 30 years’ experience practising law. A practical thinker and problem-solver, J-P’s current practice focuses on real estate, wills and estates, and corporate and commercial law. J-P also hones effective communication and advocacy skills acquired through years of criminal and family law practice earlier in his career. J-P is fluently bilingual and is proud to serve clients both in English and in French.

J-P graduated from the Queen’s University Faculty of Law in 1988. In addition, J-P holds a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University (1985) and a Bachelor of Arts Honours from the University of Waterloo (St. Jerome’s University) (1984).

J-P is an engaged member of the community. J-P volunteers for the Canadian Crime Stoppers Organization and recently served as the President of the Renfrew County Law Association. J-P has also volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada and the Canadian Red Cross, and was actively involved with the Pembroke Minor Hockey Association.

Outside of his busy law practice, J-P spends as much time as he can either outdoors – boating, camping, and landscaping – or in his woodworking shop. J-P also enjoys reading and is especially interested in 20th century military history.

Bruce Leach
Bruce Leach

Bruce joins Lavigueur Law with over 40 years of legal experience. Bruce is a graduate of the university of Western Ontario and the University of Windsor's faculty of law. Bruce was called to the Ontario Bar in 1979. He has since practiced in the areas of Real Estate, Wills, Powers of Attorneys, Estates and Corporate Commercial Matters.

Bruce lives with his wife on the family's century farm in Micksburg and is a proud father of two grown children.

Sylvia Christinck
Sylvia Christinck

Sylvia was called to the Ontario bar in 1993 and has practiced family law for over 25 years, dealing with such issues such as custody and access, child and spousal support, division of property, as well as divorce and domestic contracts. Sylvia has been a panel lawyer for the Office of the Children’s lawyer since 2006.

Sylvia is originally from the Niagara region. Prior to law school, Sylvia attended McMaster University, where she completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1984 as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 1988. Sylvia also worked as a laboratory assistant in McMaster University’s Neurosciences Department for four years, co-authoring several scientific publications. Sylvia then went on to graduate from the University of Windsor Faculty of Law.

Sylvia is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Renfrew County Law Association.

Kayla Quintal
Kayla Quintal

Kayla graduated cum laude from the Programme de droit canadien at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law in 2019, through which she obtained both a degree in Common Law (J.D.) and a degree in Civil Law (LL.L.). During law school, Kayla gained valuable experience outside of the classroom and exposure to the courtroom through an internships with Legal Aid Ontario and the Ministry of the Attorney General. Kayla then articled at the Ottawa office of one of Canada’s largest global law firms, where she was mentored by industry leaders in real estate, business, litigation, and employment law, and became skilled in legal research and drafting.

Following her call to the bar in 2020, Kayla returned to her hometown and has since been serving clients throughout the Ottawa Valley both in English and in French. Kayla represents clients on a variety of real estate transactions; helps clients build estate plans through careful drafting of wills and powers of attorney; assists individuals and corporations in achieving their business objectives; and offers sensitive advice and diligent representation to those seeking to defend or enforce their rights through civil litigation, including in the contexts of landlord-tenant, estate, contractual, and employment disputes.

Kayla is a proud alumnus of Queen's University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree with Distinction, majoring in English Language and Literature. Outside of the office, Kayla loves to spend quality time with friends, family, and her adorable Australian Shepherd pup, Molly. Kayla also enjoys experimenting in the kitchen and exercising her creativity on home improvement projects.

Matthew Sauriol
Matthew Sauriol

After graduating from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Social Sciences Honours degree in Criminology in 2017, Matthew took his studies abroad and completed an LL.B. at the University of Leicester in England in 2019. Throughout law school, Matt was actively involved with the Legal Aid Society, and was awarded Top Legal Aid Administrator in 2018.

Matt was called to the bar in 2021, and practices in the areas of Real Estate, Wills and Estates, Litigation, and Corporate-Commercial law. Matt is also bilingual, and is proud to offer his services in both official languages.

Born and raised in the Ottawa Valley, Matt has a passion for the outdoors and enjoys hunting, fishing and camping. In his spare time, Matt can also be found playing a round of golf.

Conor Leggott
Conor Leggott

Conor graduated cum laude from the University of Ottawa’s English Common Law program in 2022. While attending school Conor volunteered and worked on projects related to restorative justice, access to justice and technology, and a virtual family law clinic.

Prior to law school Conor worked in Renfrew County as an educator, career coach, and settlement consultant for welcoming newcomers to Canada. Conor is passionate about legal education. He has worked on Access to Justice “Apps” education modules that are now offered through the Ontario Justice Education Network. He also developed a board game that teaches participants about Indigenous legal traditions that has been incorporated into the law faculty curriculum at the University of Ottawa.

Conor articled with Quintal Professional Corporation/Lavigueur Law Professional Corporation and has been working here as a lawyer since he was called to the bar in 2023. Conor is ready to help you and your family with family law matters, adoption, guardianship, wills and powers of attorney, and estates.

Outside of the office, Conor spends time with his family outdoors in the garden or on the hiking trail. He is also an avid board game player.
